Radiographic Testing Level I is a widely used nondestructive testing (NDT) method for evaluating the internal soundness of materials. However, selecting the right radiographic technique for the best image requires a deep understanding of various factors, including geometry, setup, and equipment. This course provides in-depth training on the fundamentals of radiographic testing, preparing students for the certification process and helping them become proficient in applying radiographic methods.In this course, we cover:
- The history and fundamentals of Radiographic Testing
- An overview of various radiographic testing applications
- Different types of radiographic equipment and their uses
- The advantages and limitations of radiographic testing
- Identifying indications and defects
- Proper reporting and recording of radiographic findings
Upon completing this course, students will understand:
- How geometry, setup, and source size influence radiographic images
- The different types of film used in radiography and their specific purposes
- Various film techniques, including their advantages and disadvantages
- How to perform and document radiographic examinations according to applicable code requirements
The course includes 12 hours of hands-on training, during which instructors will demonstrate practical scenarios that a Level I Radiographer will encounter, such as creating RT belts, loading film, running film in dark room and reviewing radiographic images. Students will gain valuable experience in applying these techniques in a controlled environment.
Upon successful completion, participants will earn 40 total hours of accredited classroom training, with their knowledge assessed through an exam. This course meets the requirements of SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, and NAS-410. All topics and materials are aligned with ANSI/ASNT CP-105 standards.
