Ultrasonic Level II

Elevate Your NDT Career with Ultrasonic Level II Certification!

Are you ready to take your non-destructive testing (NDT) skills to the next level? Our Ultrasonic Level II certification program is your ticket to unlocking new opportunities and becoming a highly sought-after expert in the field! Whether you’re looking to advance within your current role or explore new career opportunities, Ultrasonic Level II certification opens doors to a wide range of industries and positions. From aerospace and manufacturing to oil and gas, employers are actively seeking skilled Ultrasonic Level II technicians to ensure quality and safety.

In our class we cover the following:

  1. Advanced Ultrasonic Testing Principles: Students will delve deeper into the principles of ultrasonic testing, including wave propagation, interaction with materials, and signal analysis. They will understand the physics behind ultrasonic waves and how they are used for flaw detection and material characterization.
  2. Equipment Operation and Calibration: Students will gain proficiency in operating complex ultrasonic testing equipment. They will learn how to set up equipment, adjust parameters, and calibrate probes to ensure accurate and reliable inspections. This includes sensitivity calibration, time-of-flight calibration, and beam angle calibration
  3. Code and Standards Compliance: Students will learn about relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing ultrasonic testing in their industry. This includes understanding the requirements of organizations such as ASME, ASTM, API, and AWS, and ensuring inspections comply with these standards.
  4. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills: Students will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for interpreting inspection results and making informed decisions. They will learn to identify and analyze complex indications, differentiate between relevant defects and false signals, and determine appropriate actions based on inspection findings.
  5. Report Writing and Documentation: Students will learn how to effectively document inspection results and prepare comprehensive inspection reports. This includes recording inspection parameters, describing detected indications, and providing recommendations for further action. Students will also understand the importance of clear and concise communication in reporting inspection findings to stakeholders.

Upon completion of this course, students will:

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of various types of equipment and transducers used in ultrasonic testing, enabling them to confidently select and utilize the most appropriate tools for specific inspection needs.
  • Develop proficiency in signal characterization, allowing them to accurately interpret ultrasonic signals and differentiate between relevant indications and background noise with precision.
  • Master the art of calibration, execution, and documentation of examinations in compliance with applicable industry codes and standards. This ensures that inspection processes are conducted accurately, reliably, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Course includes 15 hr hands-on training. These hours incorporate Instructor demonstration of plotting techniques, explanation of signals from indications, etc. . 40 Total Hours of classroom training are accredited to students after successful completion by demonstration of knowledge by exam. All topics and materials covered in NDE course are as required by ANSI/ASNT CP-105 and meet the requirements of SNT-TC-1A, CP-189 & NAS-410.
