Magnetic Particle Testing I & II introduces a powerful inspection method that uses electromagnetic currents to detect surface and near-surface defects in a variety of manufacturing processes. Due to its effectiveness and ease of application, Magnetic Particle Testing has become one of the most widely used nondestructive testing (NDT) methods, employed on more parts and materials than any other technique in the industry today.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive 32 total hours of accredited classroom training, with knowledge assessed through an exam.
This course meets the requirements of SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, and NAS-410.
I liked less students in the class for more one on one. The instructor took the time to show examples of everything he was teaching in many different ways so we could understand better. Keep doing what you are doing it is working.
Mr. Theo displayed a level of professionalism that helped bring the information he was teaching easier to comprehend. He had great communication throughout the class. He also was very detailed with his assessment feedback. My overall experience was a roller coaster of emotions. By the end of the week, I was confident that the information was retained. I came into this class not knowing anything at all about Phased Array, by the end of the week I felt strong enough to be able to speak the language with confidence.
Theo was amazing at helping me understand UT concepts others couldn't. Most definitely, the best instructor I've ever had.
The entire two-day training was excellent. The Refined classroom and facilities were very clean and well equipped with plenty of practice plates. Theo is incredibly passionate when it comes to NDE and he did a fantastic job with instruction on both signal interpretation and the ISQ procedure. He helped me to pass on the first attempt, which is not the norm with this test!
The class has high academic standards on presentation, practicality and integrity. In fact, no one left behind is the purpose as every student is dedicated and open to learn and ask questions.
I took the ISQ prep course through Refined , Theo Young is by far one of the best and most knowledgeable instructors I’ve ever met. I would highly recommend anyone planning on taking the ISQ to take their course. I will say this though, make sure that you are prepared and know your UTT meter and it’s functions well as it will make the course easier.
